Your mother is lucky to live in an area so rich with beautiful birds. I've thought about setting up a bird feeder in my backyard but the last time I tried that, the squirrels kept raiding it. Once they actually took the feeder off it's pole and carried it off about 20 - 30 feet. Guess they were trying to bring it back to their nest, only the feeder got caught on a small bush so they had to abandon it. Cheeky little devils, but oh so clever. LOL
Mridula – when I took this picture, I was drawn to the way they were sitting facing each other for quite some time. Unfortunately the sun was in the back ground, so I knew the pictures will come darker!
Texturizing is just adding a layer of texture; this was done through Microsoft’s very basic program.
My intent was to bring out the silhouettes with the red and white in the wings!
Jeevan –thank you.
Hip Grandma – It seems so. And yes, they are not very big birds.
Almost Precious –that is such a funny story. I am sorry they took your feeder away. Maybe you can try one that hangs from a branch a bit further away from any braches? I am sure if it would work.
I agree, my mom lives in a very bird friendly area, she does have squirrels, but does not have any feeders!
JM thank you, I really like this picture!
Buenos Aires Photoblog- thank you. I thought so too! :)

Thanks Anya. They are Maynas, very beautiful birds. This is another shot taken from my moms yard....
Looks like you have exhausted all the optical zoom and tried your luck on digital zoom... the resolution speaks it all :)
Good shot nevertheless!
Mohan- thank you for noticing my creative touch...tried my hand at texturizing...I guess you are not a fan of it.
